Pushkar Fair 2021 | Pushkar Mela 2021 during Kartik Purnima

Pushkar Fair, also called as Pushkar Mela, is a scintillating fair celebrated for ten days during Karthik Poornima, Full Moon day in the month of Kartik. But the final four days are most important during the Kartik Mela. In 2021, Pushkar Mela begins on November 11 and ends on November 19.

This fair is considered as Asia’s largest cattle fair. Pushkar is a small lake town in North Indian state of Rajasthan. Pushkar hosts the worlds largest camel fair organised by the Government of Rajasthan.

Pushkar is a small lake located near the famous Brahma temple in Pushkar town. Pushkar Snan during Kartik month is a meritorious ritual. People believe that the holy water of Pushkar Lake cleanses all the sins committed by them and cures many diseases. This event attracts a large number of pilgrims.

After performing ritual bath in Pushkar Lake devotees visit the temple of Brahma, the only temple dedicated to Lord Brahma in the world. Brahma is offered prayers and stutis. In the evening, thousands of lamps are lit and released into the water of Pushkar Lake with the help of leaf boats. This is a marvelous event to watch.
