Madurai – Jaipur special trains will be run for Navratri, Durga Puja & Diwali 2014 in September, October & November.
The Southern Railway (SR) has announced the operation of premium superfast trains between Jaipur and Madurai for the convenience of passengers. According to a statement issued by SR, these trains would be operated via Chennai Central.
Train no. 09723 Jaipur – Madurai superfast weekly special train will leave Jaipur at 1.15pm on September 20 and 27, October 4, 11, 18 and 25 and November 1, 8 and 14. It will leave Chennai Central at 1.30am on Mondays and reach Madurai at 11.25am the same day.
Train no 09724 Madurai – Jaipur premium superfast weekly special train will leave Madurai at 6.30pm on September 23 and 30, October 7, 14, 21 and 28 and November 4, 11 and 18. It would leave Chennai Central at 4.25am on Wednesdays and reach Jaipur at 5am on Thursdays.
The trains will stop at Bhopal, Nagpur, Vijayawada, Gudur, Chennai Central, Jolarpettai and Tiruchchirappalli.
Advance reservation for train no. 09724 to be run on September 23 will commence on Saturday. The advance reservation for other trains will commence every 10 days before the date of service.
Meanwhile, the SR has announced that few trains will continue to be regulated for four more days from September 14 to 17 to facilitate line/power blocks for facilitating engineering and signalling works at Ottivakkam yard.
The trains to be delayed include Vaigai Express, which would be delayed by 70 to 120 minutes during these five days.
Train numbers 12605 Chennai Egmore – Karaikkudi Pallavan Express, 16351 Mumbai CST – Nagercoil Express, 16105 Chennai Egmore – Tiruchendur Express, 16352 Nagercoil – Mumbai CST Express, 16713 Chennai Egmore – Rameswaram Express and 12633 Chennai Egmore – Kanyakumari Express, would also run late during these dates.
