About 100 years ago, Vaishya Telugu Chettiar community people of Chennai started a small bhajana mutt and worshipped. In course of time, new stone idols of Venugopala Swamy with Rukmini and Satyabhama were erected and a new temple was built in this place. Even now the temple has an administrative plan to be managed by Telugu Chettiars. The daily poojas of the temple are conducted according to the Vaikanasam rituals.
