Paadal Petra Sthalangal in Papanasam

The town of Papanasam has religious and social importance in South India particularly in Tamil Nadu. There are eleven Lord Shiva temples located in Papanasam that is listed in Paadal Petra Sthalangal. They are as follows.

Thiruppalaithurai temple is located at a distance of nearly 1 km northeast of papanasam railway station; it is on the bank of Cauvery south.

Thiruvaikavoor temple is located at a distance of about 12 km north of Papanasam, it is situated south bank of kollidam.

Thiruvisaiyamangai temple is located at a distance of nearly 1 km east of thiruvaikavoor, it is situated on the Cauvery north bank.

Vadakurangaduthurai (aaduthurai perumal koil) temple is located at a distance of about 4 km north of papanasam, cauvery north bank. It is to be highly noted that it is not to be mistaken for Aaduthurai or Then Kurangaduthurai.

Thirukkarugavoor temple is located at a distance of nearly 6 km south of papanasan, it is situated on the bank of Cauvery south.

Thirunalloor temple is situated at a distance of about 5 km east of papanasam, it is perfectly placed on the cauvery south bank.

Avoor Pasupatheeswaram temple is located at a distance of approximately 12 km southeast of Papanasam, it is located on the cauvery south bank.

Chakkarapallix (Thirupuvanam) temple is located at a distance of about 10 km west of papanasam, Cauvery south bank.

Thiruppullamangai (Pasupathikoil) temple is located at a distance of about 3 km from the pasupathikoil railway station (kumbakonam-thanjavur line), on the Cauvery south bank.

Kaduvaaikkarai Puthur (Aandar Koil) is just18 km southeast of papanasam, kudavasal-valangaimaan bus route and Thiru Irumboolai, Aalangudi temple is about 6 km south of valangaimaan in the holy town.
