Today, 16 September 2013 is Onam (Thiru Onam Festival in Kerala). Onam which is celebrated as an honor to Mahabali (King Maveli) who was demolished (sent to Pathala Loka) by Lord Vamana, the dwarf-brahmin incarnation of Sri Maha Vishnu.
