Nrusimha Navaratri is a nine-day festival celebrated in Vaishakh Month. In 2025, Nrusimha Navaratri begins on May 3 and ends on May 11 with Nrusimha Chaturdashi (Narasimha Jayanti). As the name suggests, it is dedicated to the Narasimha Swamy Avatara of Lord Vishnu.
It is celebrated for nine days; begins on Vaishakha Shukla Panchami and ends on Narasimha Chaturdashi or Narasimha Jayanti day (Vaishakha Shukla Chaturdasi). This festival is celebrated with gaiety and fervor in all Narasimha swamy Temples.
Special pujas, Abhisheka, Archana, and Aarti are performed to the deity during these nine days.
Navanarasimha Kshetras in Andhra Pradesh are the best places to visit during Narasimha Navaratri. The festival is celebrated with great pomp in Simhachalam Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple (Appanna Swamy Temple), Ahobilam Narasimha Swamy Temple and Mangalagiri Paanakala Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy.
