Narasimha Jayanthi celebrations in Yadagirigutta Temple

Narasimha Jayanti or Narasimha Chaturdashi festival is the grand temple festival in Yadagirigutta temple. In 2017, Narasimha Jayanthi date is May 9. In Yadagirigutta, ‘Ashtottara Shata Ghatabhishekam’ is also observed during the festival.

The festival is celebrated for 3 days in the temple. The mahotsavam starts on 7 May and ends on 10 May. This year it is even more auspicious that temple committee has decided to organize ‘Ashtottara Shata Ghatabhishekam’ along with the Jayanthi mahotsavams.

This year, Ashtottara Shata Ghatabhishekam is performed on the concluding day, May 10, of Narasimha Jayanthi celebrations.

A couple of years ago, a day prior to the celebrations, Vishnu Sahasranama Stotra Parayana brundam conducts the Ahoratra Japayagnam. Pancha kundathmaka sahasra kalashabhisheka sahitha trayahnika sri narasimha mahayaagam was conducted for vishwa shanti. This yagam was from May 22 to May 24. Swasthi Vachanam, Vishwaksena aradhana, raksha bandhanam, divya prabhanda parayana patanam, and Maha purnahuthi were the highlights of the Yagam.
