Mumbai Kolhapur Special Trains for Ganesh Chaturthi 2014….The Central Railway has decided to run an extra train connecting Kolhapur to Mumbai to ease the festival rush.

On its return journey, the train will leave Kolhapur on August 29 at 9.05am and will reach Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 11.55pm same day. It will have one two-tier coach, two three-tier coaches, 13 sleeper and five general coaches.
Meanwhile, the Maharashtra State Transport Corporation (MSRTC), Kolhapur division, has decided to operate 40 extra buses in view of the forthcoming Ganeshotsav season. The buses will ply from the Central bus stand and Sambhajinagar in the city and from various tehsils of the district. The festival will start on August 29.
Divisional manager Suhas Jadhav told TOI, “The MSRTC is planning to ply at least 40 additional buses between Kolhapur and Mumbai since a large number of people from Pune and adjoining areas visit Kolhapur during the festival.”
The corporation is also planning to provide advance booking facilities for these buses on their website (msrtc.gov.in) by July 25. As per rules, the corporation allows commuters to reserve their seats only a month prior to the journey.
