The time of breaking fast on Dwadashi, 28 April 2026 (Ekadashi Vrata Paaran Time) is from 5.40 AM to 8.10 AM. Ekadashi Vrata Parana should not be done in the time of Harivasara.

In Tamil traditional calendar, it falls on Vaigasi masam and in Malayalam calendar it falls on Edava month and during Jyeshto mash in Bengali calendar.

Mohini Ekadasi is one the most important Ekadasi austerities as the legend of the vrata is directly linked to Lord Sri Rama. Mohini Ekadasi vrat katha, importance, and merits are mentioned in the Brahmavaivatha Purana as a conversation between Lord Krishna and Yudhistira.

Significance

  • The word “Mohini” refers to the female avatar of Lord Vishnu.
  • According to mythology, Vishnu took the Mohini form during the Samudra Manthan (churning of the ocean) to distribute amrit (nectar of immortality) among the gods.

  • Worship: Offer prayers to Lord Vishnu, especially with Tulsi leaves.
