9 June 2015 is Masik Kalashtami. Also called as Kala Ashtami, Kalashtami falls on Ashtami tithi of Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) of every Hindu month.
Kalashtami is an auspicious day for the devotees of Lord Kalabhairava (a manifestation of Lord Shiva) who observe fasting on this day.
Kalashtami of 9 June 2015 falls in Jyeshta Month as per Amavasyant calendars and in Adhik Ashada Month as per Purnimant (North Indian Hindi) calendars. It falls in Vaigasi Masam of Tamil calendar, Edava Masam in Malayalam calendar and Jyeshtho Month in Bengali Panjika.
