14 April 2020 is Kalashtami Vrat. Also known as Kala Ashtami, Kalashtami falls on Ashtami tithi of Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) of every Hindu month.
Kalashtami is an auspicious day for the devotees of Lord Kalabhairava (a manifestation of Lord Shiva) who observe fasting on this day.
Kalashtami of 14 April 2020 falls in Chaitra Month as per Amavasyant calendars and in Vaishakh Month as per Purnimant (North Indian Hindi) calendars. It falls in Chithirai Masam of Tamil calendar, Meda Masam in Malayalam calendar and Boishakh Month in Bengali Panjika.
