Theme of Khairatabad Ganesh 2014
On this grand occasion, the Samithi has picked up the theme of ‘Sakutumba Saparivara Sametha – Shiva Paraivaram’. The mammoth setting of the pandal will have an innovative theme this year. Lord Ganesha idol will be of 60 feet height and 28 feet in breadth.
As per the model picture of the huge Ganapathi idol which the committee has released on 29 June, the Ganesha idol will have five heads including two heads of Shiva and Parvathi Mata. Vinayaka stands on a Kamalam (lotus) with ten hands. The idol will have seven serpents around the heads. Above all these, the idols of Kumara swamy and Lord Ayyappa would be designed. The left part of Ganesha is dedicated to Siddhi and a lion whereas the right part to Buddhi and a Nandi (bull).
The left side of the Pandal will have the idols of Kalyana Lakshmi Narasimha swamy and the right portion will concede Durga Mata.
According to the sculptor, architect or designer of Khairatabad Ganesh Sri Rajendran, after the completion of entire pandal, it looks like the real Kailash.
