Lanka Dahana Moorthy Lanka Dahan by Hanuman
After meeting Ma Sita at the Ashoka Vana, a beautiful forest surrounded with trees and flower gardens, Lord Hanuman was taken by the demons to the palace of Ravana. There he was humiliated and also tortured by the demons, and they set fire on his tail as per the instructions given by Ravana. Hanuman got very angry with their cruel act, and hence he has started increasing his size, jumped on the walls of the palace of Ravana and set fire on it. Subsequently he also set fire to all other homes of the demons, but he didn’t set fire to the palace of the noble Vibhishana, who was the brother of Ravana.
Since Hanuman has set fire to almost the entire Lanka kingdom, he is called as “LANKA DAGANA MOORTHY”, which means the one who spread fire to the kingdom of Lanka. His act also implies that whoever does evil acts, would be punished by the god at the appropriate time.
Lord Hanuman being an aspect of Lord Shiva contains fire on his body itself. He is having the capability to burn the entire universe through his anger, but he would never do like that. Though at present he has got tremendous powers, due to his great Rama Bhakti, but he is utilising it only for the purpose of showering his grace towards his devotees.
Lord Hanuman is also called as “SUNDARA PURUSHA”, a beautiful one, “SRIRAMA PRIYA”, greatly attached with Rama, “SRIRAMA SEVAKA”, slave to Rama, “VEDA PANDITA”, expert in all Vedas, “VAYU MAINDA”, son of Lord Vayu Bhagavan, “ANJANA PUTRA”, son of Ma Anjana, “DUSHTA SAMHARA MOORTHY”, the one who destroys the evil ones, “BRAHMANDA MOORTHY”, the one who takes gigantic form, “CHIRANJEEVI”, an immortal one, “SRESHTA”, the one who contains very good qualities, “VEERA VANARA”, the one who contains great valour among all other Vanaras. “RAMA DOOTHA”, the one who acted as a spy of Lord Rama, “RAMA PITHA”, madly attached towards Rama, showering his great love and affection on Rama and the one who contains very good and selfless devotion on Lord Rama than that of anyone in the entire universe.
Whoever regularly recites the Rama Mantra, “JAI SRIRAM”, would get the immense blessings of Lord Hanuman forever in their lives.
