Kaveri Pushkarams is a festival of River Kaveri which comes once in 12 years. It is celebrated when Jupiter transits through Tula Rashi (Libra – Guru Sankramana). In 2017, Kaveri Pushkaralu begins on September 12 and ends on September 23. This time it is even more significant as it falls during Mahalaya Pitru Paksha and Dasara Navaratri.
Cauvery Pushkarams are celebrated mainly in two states – Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Karnataka is known as equally significant as Tamil Nadu since Kaveri River originates in the state.
