Karur Vennaimalai Sri Balasubramaniya Swamy Temple Kumbabhishekam… Balasubramaniyaswamy temple (also called Vennaimalai Murugan temple) in Vennaimalai, a village in the outskirts of Karur in Karur district in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu, is dedicated to the Hindu god Murugan. Constructed in the Dravidian style of architecture, the temple is located in the Karur – Pugalur Road. The legend of the temple is associated with Kamadhenu taking up the duties of Hindu god of creation Brahma and creating the hill of butter named Vennaimalai.

The consecration of Sri Balasubramania Swamy temple at Vennaimalai in Karur district was held in a grand manner. A large number of devotees participated in the procession.

Vennamalai Sri Balasubramania Swamy Temple is one of the most famous Murugan temples in Karur district. Due to renovation work in this temple, Thaipoosam car festival has not been held for the last three years.

Meanwhile, the temple renovation work was completed and the Maha Kumbabhishekam ceremony was announced to be held on April 22 2024. In this situation, yesterday (April 21), Mangala Isai, Vinayaka worship, 4th Kaala Yaga Pooja, Homam and Deeparadhana were held. Then the 5th Kaala Yaga Puja was performed.

On April 22 2024, holy water was poured on the Vimanas and Rajagopurams of all the Moolamurthis and Maha Kumbabhishekam was held. Following this, Maha Deeparadhana was shown to all the deities including Balasubramania Swamy.

A large number of devotees and public from various places including Karur, Kathaparai, Attur and Manmangalam participated in the consecration ceremony. Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department Executive Officer Hemalatha, Karur Vennamalai Balasubramania Swamy Maha Kumbabhishekam President Radhakrishnan and others made sufficient arrangements for the function.

Earlier, Grama Shanthi at Balasubramania Swamy Temple on 16th, Mangala Isai, Vinayaka worship, Ganapathi Homam, Navagraha Homam, Prasadam distribution on 17th and 18th and Agni Sangrahanam, Mulaipari Invocation and Ashtabandham on 19th On the 20th, the 2nd Kaala Yaga Pooja and Homa were performed and the Gopuram Kalasas were placed. The third puja was followed by the distribution of prasadam to the devotees.
