Today, 10 November 2011 is Kartik Purnima (Tripurari or Tripuri Purnima), Full Moon day in Kartik Month. It is also celebrated as Dev Diwali. Jwala Thoranotsavam, Ganga Mahotsav, Bhakteshwara Vratham, Kapalmochan Mela and Pushkar Mela are the important celebrations on Kartik Purnima in various parts of India.

Both, Lord Vishnu and Shiva are worshipped on Kartik Purnima. Shiva Bilvarchana, Shiva Annabhishekam & Rudrabhishekam are the well-known rituals performed on this that are dedicated to Shiva. Vishnu Puja, Lakshmi Narayana Puja, Vishnu Sahasranama archana are the rituals dedicated to Vishnu that are observed on this day.

In Varanasi, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Prayag, and many other places along the river banks of Ganga, Kartik Puja mahotsavam and Ganga Mahotsav are celebrated with utmost fervor.

Srisailam Shiva Temple, Dharmasthala Manjunatha swamy Temple, Srikalahasti Kalahasthiswara temple, Tirumala Tirupati Venkateswara Temple, etc. are the best places to visit on Karthika Purnima.
