Guru Dattatreya Bhagvan
KartaviryaArjuna was an ancient king who lived in the Treta Yuga and ruled the ancient city of Mahishmati, which is the present day Madhya Pradesh. Kartavirya was the son of Kritavirya. He has got thousand hands and an ardent devotee of Lord Dattatreya. KartaviryaArjuna ruled his city for a long period of time and he was praised by the people for giving a golden rule. He was the avatar of Sudarshana Chakra.
The details about him were found in Ramayana. Once Ravana was defeated by him, and he was imprisoned. After the great rishi Pulastya interfered, KartaviryaArjuna released Ravana. Once, KartaviryaArjuna and his army went to sage Jamadagni’s ashram, and after finishing the feast offered by the great sage, he tried to take the divine cow Kamadhenu to his region. Since, Jamadagni refused to give the divine cow to him, the king killed Jamadagni. After knowing about the incident, Parashurama killed KartaviryaArjuna and his army forces.
Though he had done a wrong act, in general, he was a good natured person, and interested in doing fire sacrifices, charity work and contains good ruling power.
The Lord has venerated feet and is adorned with the dress of the universe. He roams everywhere with ultimate grace and brilliance blessing the worlds with happiness and prosperity.

I consider my Holy Guru Dattatreya as the supreme god, and the creator of the entire universe.
My humble salutations to my worshipful Guru Dattatreya, Who contains wonderful matted hair, Who is Lord Vishnu, and Lord Maheswara, Who gives immeasurable happiness to us,
And who is the doctor for all illness. My humble salutations to my worshipful Guru Dattatreya,
Who created all the worlds, protects and destroys the universe, And who grants liberation, and relieves us from the worldly bondages of human life.

Who wears the dresses of a sage, And who is the lord of love. My humble salutations to my worshipful Guru Dattatreya, Who has a golden coloured body, Who looks like a pious saint,
And who is the protector of the holy Vedas.

Who is the absolute Brahman, And who shines like that of the precious DIAMOND.
My humble salutations to my worshipful Guru Dattatreya, who likes fire sacrifices. Who gives great returns to the performers of fire sacrifices, and who acts as Lord Agni in fire sacrifices.
My humble salutations to my worshipful Guru Dattatreya, who appears like a humble sage, but contains great powers enough to take the VISHWAROOPA (Gigantic Divine form).
My humble salutations to my worshipful Guru Dattatreya, who lives in the place where there is devotion, who lives in the souls of the saints and sages, who gives good courage and wisdom to his devotees, and who contains good knowledge in Vedas equivalent to Lord Brahma.
