Shri Kapileshwara Shiva Temple in Belagavi is an ancient temple which is considered as the South Kashi. The said Shiva Linga was installed by the great sage Kapila Muni. The temple is a unique and sacred and great Jyotirlinga which is not just only confined to Belagavi but also widely spread to entire India. Its a belief that the Chardham Yatra is completed when devotees visit the Kapileshwara Temple.
The fire place installed by Shri Kapil sage is still alive.
