Kalabhabhishekam was conducted at Lord Ayyappa Temple here on 1at day of the 10-day Vishu festival on 11 April 2015.
As part of the Kalabhabhishekam, thantri Kandararu Rajeevaru in the presence of melsanthi Krishnadas Nampoothiri conducted Brahmakalasa pooja at the mandapam of the temple at 10.30 am.
The ritual was concluded with Kalabhabhishekam on the idol of Lord Ayyappa during Uchcha pooja after the procession carrying the Brahmakalasam by melsanthi Krishnadas Nampoothiri led by thantri Rajeevaru circumambulating the sreekovil.
Udayasthamana pooja, Pushpabhishekam and Padi pooja were the other rituals held at the temple.
Sahasrakalasam will be the special ritual to be conducted at the temple on the second day of the festival.
As part of the ritual, the thantri conducted Kalasa pooja at sopanam on the south of the sreekovil of the temple at 7 pm on Saturday.The ritual will be concluded with Kalasabhishekam on the idol of Lord Ayyappa during Uchcha pooja.
The auspicious ‘Vishukani’ darshan of Lord Ayyappa will be held at 4 am on April 15.
Thantri Rajeevaru and melsanthi Krishnadas Nampoothiri will offer ‘Vishukaineettom’ (coins) to the devotees after opening the sreekovil.
The hill shrine of Lord Ayyappa will be closed on April 19 evening after Athazha pooja and Harivarasanam.
