Lord Vinayaga is considered to be the first god in the Sanatana Dharma, and each and every Hindu are supposed to worship Lord Vinayaka as the first deity, he is an obstacle remover and people used to worship him daily, before doing their regular chores.
Lord Vinayaka is the symbol of Wisdom and Faith, he is regarded as the god of gods, and he is also considered as a Child God, similar to Lord Muruga and Lord Krishna. Lord Ganesh Temple is situated in almost all parts of India, and even under a tree, he would be available. He cannot be ignored when we start a new venture or any other new engagement. There is a wonderful temple dedicated for Lord Vinayaka and the temple is known as Sri Jala Vinayagar Temple.
The address of the temple is:
No.68B, Cheran Nagar, Valliammai Nagar, Tiruppur – 641606.
Few centuries ago, the Tiruppur City was ruled by a King, who was a staunch devotee of Lord Shiva. During his time, his kingdom faced severe drought, and famine, and hence he and his people suffered a lot. There was no rainfall for several months, and hence, the crops began to dry.
The King tried his level best in order to overcome from the difficult situation. He has also performed Varuna Japam and celebrated Indra Vizha in order to pacify Lord Varuna and Indra, but still then, the worst situation prevails in his kingdom. One night Lord Vinayaka has appeared on the dream of the king, and he pointed out a particular place which was covered by full of dry grasses, the Lord had asked him to dig that particular place, and then he disappeared.
The next day morning, the king took a few people along with him and made them to dig the place which was pointed out by Lord Vinayaka, and to his surprise, he was able to see a self-emanated idol of Lord Vinayaka, which was covered with full of water. The idol was taken out and a beautiful temple was constructed by him, and he named the temple as “SRI JALAVINAYAGAR TEMPLE”. In course of time, the temple was enlarged in its size, and more of devotees began to visit this excellent temple of Lord Vinayaka.
JalaVinayagar is famous for curing water related diseases like common cold, diabetes and lung infections. There is also a separate shrine for JalaVinayagar which is available in my Kula Devi, Ma Angallamman Temple, Keerakara Veedi Erode, and this Vinayagar appears very beautiful. During Vinayaka Chaturthi festival day, Amman devotees used to gather in large numbers in front of the shrine of JalaVinayagar and they used to perform pujas, decorate him with flowers, offer new Dhotis, perform Archanai and Abhishekham, and offer delicious Mothakams with full of love and devotion to Lord JalaVinayagar which would be mostly cooked on their own and brought from their homes.
