God cannot turn into bad, since he is always good. God cannot turn into mad, since he is a very wise person, god would never become sad, since he is of joyful nature. God would never punish us, since he would always embrace us. One Shaivite Saint has even described Lord Shiva as a mad god in one of his songs, (PITHA, PIRAI SOODIYA PERUMANE), only out of his pure devotion on him!
We should always keep saying the best quote, “God, God, Good, Good, since god is a very good person and the real sweet nature of the god seems to be very much astonishing, astounding and admiring one! God is wonderful, excellent, marvellous, lovely, and we can keep on praise his qualities for all the 365 days in a year! In this picture, we can see that how the devotees of Vithoba are tightly hugged by the great Lord and this shows his great affection on his devotees. God contains very good qualities, he is highly efficient, affluent, intelligent and powerful person, and the real nature of the god is of very soft, polite and gentle! But due to our own problems, sometimes we used to consider him as a dreaded demon!
The great Vishnu Bhagavata, Sri Prahalada praises his beloved Lord Hari as Paramatma, Parabrahma, Sarvottama and as Paramapurusa, which means that Lord Hari is the ultimate Brahman and he was the head for the entire universe. Likewise, medieval saints like Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and Sri Nityananda Maharaj praises Lord Krishna as a lovely demon, wonderful thief and as the mischievous god! They praise Krishna like that, out of their staunch devotion on him.
Most of us are getting angry with the god, due to the challenges and difficulties which we face in this dreaded Kali Yuga. Sometimes, we even used to shout at the god by mentioning him as “DEAF”, “IDIOT” and “STUPID”, but, after some time, we used to seek apology to him, and also we would try to erase those derogatory words from our memory! But we used to scold at him, whenever we again face out any problems in our life!
But god would never get angry with our scolding, but at the same time, we should also avoid scolding at him, even if we face any kind of life threatening problems! Once a Krishna devotee had scolded Lord Krishna and described him as a “CUNNING LITTLE THIEF”. He has done like that, due to his own personal problems. But anyhow after some time, he has realised his own mistake and sought apology to the god with tearful eyes, and went to the bed. That night Lord Krishna had appeared on his dream and said, “Yes, My Dear, really I am a cunning little thief only, since once playfully I have stolen butter as well as lot of eatables from the homes of my near and dear, and hence, I didn’t get angry with you, and even the great Alvar Saints used to affectionately called me as “VENNAI THIRUDAN”, Stealer of butter”.
The Lord would never get irritated or never get agitated, being the reason, that he is the “TRUE LORD”. We are having the great privilege in describing the god as a small child as a naught person and even as our friend! Some Shaivite Saints used to gently scold Lord Shiva by considering him as their own friend! God can always be considered as our own friend, but, he would never turn into our enemy, even if we hate him or curse him, since he consider all of his creations as his wonderful children! In the famous “SRI PANDURANGA ASHTAKAM”, Lord Panduranga is described as a close friend to his devotees. Sant Eknath goes one step further and tells, “HEY PANDURANGA, you have to come before me, whenever I require”. The great Sundarar, has sent Lord Shiva for a marriage proposal! When Lord Shiva took the form of a labourer, and when he didn’t do his work properly, he was beaten up by a Pandya King, and even during that time he has welcomed the “BIG BLOW”, with a smiling face! He has done so, since the Pandya King has unknowingly committed the wrongful act!
As per the sayings of the great scholar and the former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Thiru Annadurai, we can find the face of the god on the smile of the poor ones! Many of us have this question in our mind that when so many poor young ones starve even without taking a cup of milk, then why there is a need to perform holy milk bath to the deities?
But it is entirely different! Doing service to the god is based on our own satisfaction, and no god compels us to perform holy bath to their idols. Only out of our own self-interest, we are doing such types of good tasks. God cannot look after the personal problems of the entire poor ones, and that’s why he has created some generous soft and good hearted rich people, and he makes them to help those poor and destitute in the world. Most of the upper middle class and rich people should come forward to help others, especially the poor, destitute and down-trodden people by the way of doing generous activities like providing food to the orphanages, old age homes, and to the road side destitute, since by doing that, definitely they would get more happiness and mental pleasure, than that of spending their time in costly hotels and in other sight-seeing places.
As per the sayings of Guru Raghavendra, “God has given you sufficient wealth due to your past birth good karmas. Try to utilize it properly, and contribute a portion of your wealth for charity purpose also, since at any time, anything may happen, hence before your death try to do good activities as much as possible”. Lord Krishna in his Bhagavat Gita also tells, “GIVE FOOD, GIVE FOOD, GIVE FOOD”, he asks us to donate food to the poor and the needy, and he insists us to do food donation by telling it for three times. It is also good to donate nice clothes to the road side beggars, and donating sari with blouse to a beggar woman, since doing this kind of act is considered similar to donating a costly sari to Ma Shakti Devi.
We can also spend some few hours in the old age homes and orphanages and can tell bhakti stories on Lord Rama and Lord Krishna, since stories related to Rama and Krishna would give great spiritual pleasure, and due to that, the people who lives in the old age homes, and orphanages would get happiness at least for some time in their life.
We can find great pleasure by offering something to others. During Deepavali and Pongal festivals, we can prepare large quantity of sugar free sweets and snacks and can distribute it to the old aged people. We would get great enjoyment by seeing the satisfied smiles on their face, which we could not get anywhere else. We can also visit temples and mutts, and can offer Food packets or biscuit packets to the beggars sitting nearby the temples/mutts.
During my stay at Chennai, I used to regularly offer biscuit packets to the beggars sitting nearby Sri Saibaba Temple, Mylapore. They used to smile, and happily take the biscuit packets, and right now, I used to give biscuits packets to the Apartment staffs like women sweepers, and they used to happily take it from my hands, by affectionately telling “ANNA THANK YOU”, and on seeing their cheerful faces, at the time of my offering, I used to consider their smile as the divine smile of goddess Ma Shakti Devi itself!
Why we should worship god! This is a million dollar question which would frequently arouse in our mind?
Is there is any specific reason for worshipping him?
Will god punish us, if we didn’t worship him?
If we worship him, will there be any change in our life?
If we neglect to worship, then what will happen?
If we worship him only occasionally, then will the god shower his full grace on us?
If we keep on worshipping him day and night and for all the 365 days in a year, then whether we will get an opportunity to go to the heaven after our death?
Why god keeps his eyes tightly closed, when crime incidents happen frequently in the world?
Why god is not answering us, when we talk to him?
Why god is not appearing in front of us, even if we pay sincerity on him?
Why god doesn’t understand our problems, and why he didn’t correct the evil persons?
In a small paragraph, we can get the reply for all the above questions.
Worshipping the god gives happiness, we are safe and secure on his hands, and we could be able to lead a comfortable life by worshipping him, and more than that we should not expect anything from him, since being the creator, god clearly knows what to do, when to do, how to do, and to whom to do. Even god highly respects the laid down rules of the law, and hence he doesn’t want to break it. We could see the god once if we realise him on our soul! There is no need to worship him for the entire day, by prohibiting our daily works. Just if we worship him even for a minute in a day, then, that itself would satisfy him. We have to do our duty (worshipping the god), but we should never expect the immediate outcomes from it! We can get a clear explanation for this through an example.
Gopal and Paul both are thick friends. Gopal is a believer of god, while Paul is a non-believer of god. As usual on one fine day, Gopal went to his beloved god temple, but, while he was returning from the temple, he accidently fell down, and he met with a small injury on his leg.
But, his friend Paul cheerfully greeted him and said that he found a ten rupee note on the road, and when he enquired others, about the ownership of the note, no one was willing to accept it and they have asked him to take the note, and hence Paul happily took the note, and narrated the incident, and when Paul found the small injury on the leg of Gopal he laughed at him, saying that since Gopal went to the temple, he was met with the accident, whereas he has got a small amount without even worshipping the god!
With a smiling face, Gopal had answered to his friend, “Listen clearly my dear friend Paul since I have visited the temple, instead of getting my leg fractured I was met up with a small accident, whereas, since you are a non-believer of god, instead of getting a golden treasure, you have got only a small amount”.
From the above example, we could clearly know about the significance in worshipping the god.
Demi gods means minor deities. But they also contain more powers, and most of the demi gods are entitled to partake, their share of oblation received from the fire sacrifices. They are controlled by the main deities like Shiva-Shakti, Vishnu, Brahma, Muruga, Vinayaka and Dharma Shasta. Demi gods though they are considered as immortals, yet, they also have a certain restricted life time, but they would live for a long span of life period, that is, for about few lakhs of years!
Though Lord Surya is considered as Lord Surya Narayanan, but actually Lord Surya comes under the category of Navagrahas(Planets). Even Lord Surya has to obey the orders of Lord Brahma, since he is the one, who has created Lord Surya himself! Once when Lord Yama Dharma tried to invoke his Pasha weapon on Ravana, it was Lord Brahma, who had appeared before him and said, “Om Yama Dharma, now it is not the time to kill Ravana, hence don’t kill Ravana, since, as per my boon, he is supposed to be killed only in the hands of Lord Rama. I am the one, who has created you as well as your Pasha Weapon. Hence, be calm and hide yourself before Ravana”. After hearing that, Lord Yama Dharma disappeared! Those who take the Viswaroopa Form (Divine Form) are said to be the major deities, like Vinayaka, Muruga, Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva-Shakti and Dharma Shasta. Demi Gods are created for a certain specific purpose such as undertaking certain tasks, and also for doing goodness to the humans. Among the demi gods, Lord Indra is considered as the chief demi god. He is giving various instructions to the other demi gods, and they are doing it properly. He is also controlling the 33 crores of devas, and helps them to discharge their functions easily and properly. He contains great powers, and he is capable of even granting boons to us.
The demi gods are created in order to discharge their allocated duties properly, and they are watching us in our every moment of life, and reporting it to the god, and giving us suitable results based on our good and bad deeds. They contain great super natural powers. Hence let us do only good things in our life, and live a peaceful and a sin free life and let us worship the great demi gods, and let us be blessed.
