21 December 2015 is Gita Jayanti. Gita Jayanti is the birth anniversary of Bhagavad Gita, the most sacred and important Hindu scripture. This is the day of origination of Srimad Bhagvad Gita.
Gita Jayanti falls on Mokshada Ekadashi, Shukla Paksha Ekadasi in Margashirsha Month.
Bhagvad Gita is one of the most influential literary works till date which also explains about personality development and time management.
Lord Krishna explained knowledge about the birth, living, the duties of life and the death in very informative manner to king Arjuna who wanted to leave the battle field in order escape from killing of his own cousins, fathers and other relatives.
To bring back Arjuna to Kurukshetra war, Lord Krishna has shown his Vishwaroopam and taught him the essence of life with the name of ‘Srimad Bhagavad Gita’.
