Ganesha Damana Puja | Damanak Chaturthi

Ganesha Damana Puja (Damanak Chaturthi) is observed on the fourth day of Chaitra month in Amavasyant calendars.

In 2026, Damanak Chaturthi or Ganesha Damana Puja date is March 22 (Chaitra Shukla Chaturthi).

It is mainly observed in Andhra Pradesh and some parts of Karnataka & Maharashtra. Lord Ganesha is worshipped with Damana (Dhavanam: botanical name – Artemisia pallens).

Lord Ganesha is installed at puja place. The Lord is offered Shodashopachar Puja. Dhavanam (Damana) plays the key role in this shodashopachar Puja. The idol of Ganesha is adorned with Dhavanam leafs and Dhavanam mala. Sweet delicacies like Payasam and Modakas are offered to Lord.
