Mewar festival is a fair organized in Udaipur, Rajasthan, during Gangaur festival. The festival marks the beginning of spring season in the state. In 2023, Mewar festival dates are: March 22, March 23 and March 24.
Gangaur procession is the major event during the fair. Married women pray to Lord Isar and Goddess Gauri on Gangaur festival.
On this occasion, Gauri and Isar idols are taken out for procession. Women carry the idols on their heads and place on the boats at Gangaur Ghat.
The 3-day festival marks the religious fervor and cultural harmony in Udaipur and all parts of Rajasthan. Sparkling lights, cracking fireworks, and tremendous colours make the festival livelier.
