Ganagapur Yatra, an annual procession taken out to Ganagapur Shree Kshetra in Magha Month as per traditional Kannada and Marathi calendars. In 2013, Ganagapur Yatra date is February 26. It is also celebrated as Guru Pratipada (Guru Padyami).
The devotees believe that on this day, Dattavatara Shree Nrusimha Saraswati Swami Maharaj gave up his physical body and disappeared from Shree Kshetra Ganagapur. Sri Nrusimha Saraswati Swami is believed to be the the second incarnation of Lord Dattatreya.
Ganagapur Yatra is a week-long festival celebrated with utmost gaiety. Special rituals, satsangs and cultural programs are conducted. Guru Charitra Parayana is a famous ritual initiated by many devotees on this day.
Ganagapur Shree Kshetra is mentioned in Shri Guru Charitra and the Paduka of Shri Nrusimha Saraswathi Swamy is worshipped in this temple.
