29 May 2022 is Falaharini Kalika Puja (Phalaharini Kali Puja). It is a highly meritorious day dedicated to Goddess Kalika Debi. It is observed on Amavasya in Jaishto month in Bengali calendar.
Special Pujas, exclusive rituals, and special bhog are offered to Goddess on this day. In Bengal, Assam, Tripura and other places where Bengali communities live in larger numbers, celebrate this puja with utmost pomp and gaiety.
It is believed on this day in 1873, Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa worshipped Sarada Maa as ‘Tripura Sundari Devi’. To commemorate this auspicious event, on this day, Falaharini Kalika Puja is performed at all the RK Math centers.
As per North Indian Hindi calendars, this day falls on Jyeshta Amavasya and on Amavasyant Panchangams of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka it falls on Vaishakh Amavasya.
In Tamil calendar, Falaharini Kalika Puja falls in Vaigasi Masam and as per Malayalam calendar it is in Edavam Masam.
