Divine scriptures are nothing but holy texts, which has to be read by the people belonging to all types of religions. As per Hinduism, we are mainly following Bhagavat Gita as our holy text, and apart from that, many other great texts like Puranas, Ithihasams, Vedas, and details about great saints are also available in the websites, as well as in all leading book stores. It is a must for us to read the spiritual texts, in order to purify our mind, clear our sins and to become a pious person.
As per ancient legend, once the divine Vedas kept by the creator god Brahma Dev, had been stolen by the two demons Madhu and Kaitabha, and Lord Vishnu had took the Hayagriva Avatar (Horse head and human body) and fought with the demons, killed them, and restored the divine Vedas from them, and gave it back to Lord Brahma.
By reading the holy texts of the great gods and goddesses, we would get the blessings of Ma Saraswati, the goddess of wisdom, and we would get lot of Punya(Good Karmas) which would be accounted into our life account.
Similar to the Christians and the Muslims, who regularly read the Holy Bible and the Holy Quran, it is a must for each and every Hindu, to maintain Holy texts in their homes, and must cultivate the reading habit regularly. Simply going to the temples, and praying to the god for name sake would not fulfill our wishes. Apart from worshipping the almighty, we must know about the details of our great gods, goddesses, demigods, demigoddesses, saints, Rishis, Rishi Pathnis etc.
In this Kali Yuga, we didn’t know when we would die, and we may die at any moment. Instead of postponing of reading the divine texts, we must regularly read the beautiful texts, and must study the greatness of the holy persons, and must worship them regularly in our life.
Life is too short. Let us be smart, and start reading the divine texts from today onwards, in order to get the full grace of the almighty.
