Darsha Amavasya is the most auspicious day for Pitru Karyas such as Pitru Tharpanam, Pinda Daan, etc. Also known as Pitru Karya Amavasya, Darsha Amavasya is the day on which Moon is absent in the sky. There will not be Chandra Darshan on this day at all.
Darsha Amavasya is utmost beneficial for Pitru Karya. Devotees throng the famous temples, River banks, and the banks of Bay of Bengal to perform Pitru Karya on this day.
Those who wish to observe Amavasya Fasting can do fasting on this day than the previous day or the following day. Chandra Deva (Moon God) is worshipped on this day.
