Chennai KK Nagar Ayyappan Temple Kumbabishekam.. Swamy Ayyappan Temple, KK.Nagar Kumbabishekham event took place on 28th June 2023, in presence of large number of devotees. Here apart from the main shrine, shrines for Lord Ganapathi, Ma Bhagavathi and Lord Krishna are there. All these divine deities look very attractive and realistic.

Kumbabhishekam also known as Consecration ceremony, is a famous ritual held in the temples, once in 12 years, in order to add more and more divine powers to the deities present in the temple, and it is also performed in order to honour the great almighty. Kumbabishekams are being done in order to renovate the entire temple and to recharge the powers of the deities present in the temple through mantras, homams, prayers and abhishekams and this method was practiced since Vedic times.
During the auspicious day(28.06.2023) and at an auspicious time, the Kumbha is bathed with the charged and sanctified holy waters in the sacrificial pot and, then the divine powers entered into the Ayyappan deity installed inside the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. The deity, which was until then only a granite sculptured stone image, is believed to transform into a divine representation of the deva with utmost beauty, grace and grandeur, conferring divine blessings on all the devotees who attended the auspicious consecration ceremony.
During this auspicious event, devotees in this temple who were in large numbers, gathered inside the temple, in order to have a glimpse of their beloved sweet god Lord Ayyappan, and also, they got sprinkled the holy water on their body, since it is considered to be a most worshipful act.
