Post Second World War socio-economic condition was gloomy. Undivided India was still struggling to gain Independence. Communal harmony of undivided India was at its worse. At this hour of crisis three gentlemen, Late Sri Rashbehari Ghosh, Late Dr. Kumarkanti Ghosh and Late Sri Mohit Mohon Ghosh came forward to facilitate the localites to celebrate and perform all rituals related to Durga Puja peacefully within the locality.
A community Durga Puja named as “CHAKRABERIA SARBAJONIN DURGOTSAB” was initiated in 1946 by this trio. We are proud to claim that keeping up with that legacy, we have celebrated Durga Pujas’ at our locality since then against all odds & obstacles. This year we are going to celebrate 68th anniversary of our Durga Puja celebrations. This Durga Puja was established in 1946.
