There is a famous Perumal Temple in Tamil Nadu which is known as Sri Bindu Madhava Swamy Temple, and it is located in Thutipattu near Ambur, Tamil Nadu.
This temple can be easily reached by travelling a few kilometres from Ambur Bus Stand either by walk or through Auto. This temple is good in art and architecture.This temple was extended and renovated by the great King Sri Krishna Deva Raya who has prosperously ruled over the Vijayanagar kingdom and who was interested in taking part in temple related welfare activities.
Here Lord Bindu Madhava appears along with his two lovely consorts, Ma Sridevi and Ma Bhoodevi, and we can also witness a beautiful divine smile on the faces of the Divine couple. Apart from the main shrine, separate shrines for Ma Mahalakshmi, Lord Narasimha, Sudarshana, Lord Hanuman and Andal are also available in the temple. The temple tower also contains the image of the deities like Sri Lakshmi Narasimha, Sri Hayagriva, Durga etc.
Bindu Madhava Temple in Tamil Nadu is as much famous as Bindu Madhava Temple located in Varanasi.As per ancient legend, the Demon Vritasura was killed byLord Indra with the help of his powerful weapon Vajrayudha, and due to that, Lord Indra began to suffer from severe Brahmahatya Dosham, which is considered to be one of the powerful Doshams.
In order to get rid from this Dosha, Lord Indra has built the Bindu Madhava Perumal Temple. Since Lord Indra himself was able to get rid from his terrible Brahmahatya Dosham, it is believed that those who visit this powerful temple of Lord Vishnu would get rid from all of their Doshams. Festivals like Annual Brahmotsavam, Purattasi, Navarathri and Margazhi Utsavams are being celebrated in a grand manner in this temple.
