Marital bliss and fruitful family relations are the great benefits that devotees would get on performing Anang Trayodasi vrat.

‘Ananga’ means the one without body. Kamadeva is also referred to as Ananga as Lord Shiva burnt him into ashes before Tarakasura Vadha. But pacified after the serious penance of Kamadeva’s wife, Rathi Devi, Lord Shiva turned him as ‘Ananga’. He appears with full body to Rathi but only with head to others.

Coming to the puja procedure of Ananga Trayodashi, devotees need to perform ceremonial bath on this day in the early morning, before sunrise. And observe strict fasting. At Puja place, offer Puja to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati with Shodashopachara (16 steps of Puja). Break the fasting in the night.
