Amarnath Yatra is one of the biggest and most popular pilgrimages as per Hindu traditions. Several lakhs of devotees visit Amarnath Shivling during Shravani Mela in July-August every year. The Amarnath Yatra begins on June 23rd and ends on 3 August, Rakshabandhan, as every year. But this year, due to Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), Amarnath Yatra may get cancelled.
But some devotees have claimed that they visited Amarnath Shivling approximately a couple of months before the official Amarnath Yatra begins. They claim that they had darshan of Shri Amarnath in last week of April. And the devotees also took photographs of Amarnath Shivling. It is to notice that the official of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) is still waiting to visit the cave.
Currently, around 46 days Yatra is scheduled to start on twin routes – tradition Pahalgam track in Anantnag district and the short Baltal track in Ganderbal district. The Yatra will begin from June on Masik Shivratri. The Yatra will end on 3 August on the day of ‘Shravan Purnima’ and ‘Raksha Bandhan’.
The registration of the official Yatra will begin from 2nd April through 440 designated branches of PNB (Punjab National Bank), Jammu and Kashmir Bank, and the YES Bank located around the country.
