72-feet Ganesha idol in Vijayawada is the biggest Ganesha idol ever for Vijayawada city. In 2017, Vinayaka Chavithi Navaratri Utsavalu begins on 25 August and ends on September 5 with Ananta Chaturdashi Vinayaka Nimajjanam. But this year, Dundee Ganesha Seva Samiti Nimajjanam is celebrated on 3 September, Sunday.
The organizers of this eco-friendly Clay Ganesha idol are – Dundee Ganesha Seva Samiti (DGSS). It is installed at Gymkhana Grounds, Vijayawada.
This Ganapathi statue is holding a huge laddu on its hand. This Laddu is being prepared by Tapeswaram Sweet makers.
For this Vinayaka, 45 tonnes of iron and 65 tonnes of clay were used. The theme of this Ganapathi is “Siddhi Buddhi Sametha Kailasa Maha Ganapathi”.

For 2016 Vinayaka, 40 tonnes of iron and 60 tonnes of clay were used. The theme of this Ganapathi is “Saptamooshika Ganapathi”.
For 2015 Vinayaka, the theme of this Ganapathi was 63-feet ‘Ashtasiddhi Ganapati’ (Natya Ganapati).
