30 September 2014 – Kalparambho, Bodhon, Amantran

Today, 30 September 2014 marks the beginning of Durga Puja in Bengal. Also observed as Maha Sashti or Durga Sashti, it is the sixth day of Navratri in other parts of India. Kalparambho Durga Puja, Bodhon, Amantran and Adhibas are the main rituals of first day of Durga Puja.

Durga Puja Timings, 30 September 2014

Shashti begins on 29 September at 12.55 PM and ends at 11.49 AM on 30 September.

Kalparambho time – need to perform before 8.25 AM, 30 September.

Durga Devi Bodhon, Amantran, and Adhibas are performed in the evening.

On Mahasashti in 2014, Katyayani Navadurga is worshipped as sixth Navdurga. Goddess Mahalakshmi Devi puja is observed as part of Navadevi worship. Bhuveneshwari Puja is observed in Dasamahavidya worship during Navratri. Goddess Vaishnavi is worshipped as per Saptamatrika Puja in Navratri.
