Pradosh or Pradosham puja is an auspicious vrat dedicated to Lord Shiva and is observed on every Trayodashi tithi. In June 2012, Pradosh vrat dates are – June 2 and June 16. The first Pradosh vrat in June 2012 is Shani Pradosh (2 June) as it falls on Saturday or Shanivar. The other one is also Shani Pradosh Vrat (16 June).
Generally, the auspicious time for Pradosh puja is 4.30 to 6’0 clock in the evening on Trayodasi tithi.
Shani Pradosh on 2 June 2012 falls in Shukla Paksha in Jyeshta month.
Bhauma Pradosh on 16 June 2012 falls in Krishna Paksha in Jyeshta month as per Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, and Telugu calendar. And it falls in Krishna Paksha of Ashad month in North Indian Hindi calendar.
Pradosha Ashtakam is an auspicious prayer to chant during Pradosh Shiva Puja.
