Asta Dasa Shakti Peethas are the 18 Shaktipeeth temples or prominent & most auspicious temples dedicated to Goddess Shakti. It is believed that these temples are most ancient in Hinduism and considered as the heavenly abodes of the Goddess.
As per the legend of Sati Devi and Daksha Yagna, Goddess Sati’s slashed body parts were fallen all over the places and since then those holy places have become Shakti Peethas.
There are four Shakti Peethas in Andhra Pradesh; two each in Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Jammu Kashmir; and one each in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Assam, West Bengal, and Bihar. Shankari Devi Shakti Peetham is located in Trincomali of Sri Lanka.

saraswati peeth is not in srinagar it is away from srinagar which is in POK. any one can visit only 15 peethas. 1)pradumne there is no temple at present. only smalll monument is there. there is no idol. it is at pandua near kolkatta.
2)In trinkomali also,the temple is not there.

only 15 places.there is no correct information about srinkhala devi,saraswathi devi.

Hi All: I went to Aalampur on sep 15 2012. I was my pleasure to share the memories of holy place of Aalampur Jogulamba devi’s temple.,located at bank of Tungabadra(Uttara Pravahani, also referred as Dakshina Kaasi) Mahaboob Nagar District, 200 km from Hyderabad.
There are several Historical temples like Sangameswara , Navabramha Temples with remarkable architectural sklills as compared to Ramappa.Coming to Jogulamba temple is surrounded by water like Bramha temple in Chebrolu , Guntur District.
In Aalampur temples were contructed like Konark Surya Bhagavan, according history those Architectures migrate from AP and constructed same structure in Konark.
All tenmples were constructed using Sandstone.
Facilities: There are cottages available from AP Tourism Haritha hotels and tiffin centres.
Road Condition: Aalampur is well connected by roads from Kurnool and Hyderabad.
Places to visit: Navabramha temples, Sangameswara temple, Architectural Museum and Tungabadra river.
Speciality: Purohit’s in Sangameswara and Jogulamba temples were very expressive and they explained the history about temples and surroundins with great patience.

Dear All ,
I am a strong beliver of hindu religion. But often I am confused when I try to analyse it. For example why do we not find any shakti peeth in USA,UK etc places. Or else was all the hindu goddess limited to asian continent only. BUT I ALSO BELIVE TRUTH ONLY PREVAILS WITH TIME. IF that is so god will it be possble to find those in various puranas. DO we know the exact locations of places like jamudeep and various parvata mentioned in those puranas. Do we have any research documented.
Also point to be noted we have every detail about mahadev or Brahma or vishnu ji. but we do not know the dates of their deeds. Why were those not dated
Is there any document that we know about all these.
