Clay or Eco friendly Ganesha idols, the newer way to reduce pollution of Ganesh immersion, will be available for very less price in Hyderabad for Ganesh Chaturthi 2012. Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) ties up with SAVE to prepare 1,000 mud Ganesh idols and to distribute for very less price.
HMDA tied up with Society for Awareness and Vision on Environment (S.A.V.E) for all these eco-friendly Vinayaka chavithi festivities. For more details about the list of stalls or shops where clay Ganesha idols are sold, prices and all call – 9948656599, 9848799648, 9441063145, 040 – 27662668 (Chikkadpally), 9701224507, o40 – 23351892 (Punjagutta). The price of 4/5 feet clay Ganesh idol is Rs. 3,000. With this, the pandal organizers will get dhowati for Ganesha and some eco-friendly articles for free cost.

SAVE will be making smaller idols for devotees to take home and for the Pandals 1000 big idols will be prepared. The big idols will be about 4/5 feet. We all hope that this new initiative of HMDA will work for the clean and green Hyderabad.

Here are some tips to make merry and be eco friendly:
· Create an artificial tank in your locality to immerse the idol instead of contaminating natural sources of water.
· Collect offerings of flowers and other organic material and put them in a compost pit. These can be used to fertilize your garden.
· Do not immerse the flowers wrapped in polythene bags. They choke our lakes and seas.
