Supermoon in May 2012 will be the biggest moon of the year, 2012. It will be the brightest night in this year. It is Vaishakha Purnima (Full Moon day in Vaishakh Month) as per Indian Hindu calendars. It is Chithirai Pournami in Tamil Nadu, Meda Paurnami in Kerala & Boishakh Poornima in Bengal.
In 2011, we have watched the ‘Extreme Supermoon’. Extreme Super Moon was on March 19, 2011 coinciding with Falgun Purnima (Holi Purnima). You can see the images of Extreme Super Moon 2011 here… (It was 14% larger moon and 15-30% brighter moon).
In USA, the moon will reach its peak fullness at 11:35 p.m. EST on May 5, 2012.
In Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, the Supermoon will be visible on May 6, 2012.
