Vasant Panchami marks the beginning of Vasant rithu (Spring season). It is an auspicious day for Saraswati Pooja. In 2015, Vasant Panchami date is January 24.
On this day, Mata Saraswati is worshipped. It is celebrated on the fifth day of the month Magh (Magha masa Shukla Panchami). Vasanta Panchami is also called as ‘Shree Panchami’ or ‘Saraswati Panchami’.
