Uma Chaturthi Vrata is an auspicious austerity observed in Eastern parts of India such as Bengal, Odisha and some parts of Assam. In 2021, Uma Chaturthi Vrata date is June 14.
Uma Chaturthi Vrata falls on Chaturthi in Shukla Paksha (bright half) of Jyeshta Month as per Odiya Panji.
Women keep fast on this day till the moonrise. Devotees perform Uma Puja (Gauri Pujan) and offer special naivedya to the Goddess. Married women observed this Vrata for marital bliss and unmarried girls perform it for good husband and happy married life.
On this day, Pashan Chaturthi Brata is also observed.
