Ugadi 2013 marks the beginning of Vijaya Nama Samvatsaram. It is the 27th year in 60 years of Hindu calendar cycle.
Ugadi falls on the first day of Chaitra Masam as per Telugu and Kannada Panchangam. This day also marks the beginning of Vasanta Navaratri (Chaitra Navaratri / Sri Rama Navaratri).
Ugadi is celebrated with utmost gusto in Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam, Srisailam Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple, Mysore Chamundeshwarai Temple, Dharmasthala Manjunatha Swamy Temple, and many other temples in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
