Tharoor is a small town. One of the great devotees of Hari who lived in that place was Uddhava Chitguna. He went on a pilgrimage from place to place and reached the town. He worshipped Perumal in the temple and performed the pastimes of the Lord at night, making the people happy and making them receive the blessings of the Lord.
At that time, the people of the village wanted to celebrate the upcoming Sri Rama Navami festival in Dwarkapuri. But the people of the village did not accept it. They gave various justifications and persuaded them to agree to celebrate Sri Rama Navami in the city itself.
They started doing things for the Navami festival in a very grand manner. Do you want to listen to the encouragement of the Bhagavathars? They set up a huge pandal and decorated it with bananas, kamuku and torans. Sri Rama Navami also arrived. Uddhava Chitgunar made Lord Rama appear in the pandal and adorned him with silk clothes and ornaments to attract his eyes and worshipped him with the chanting of musical slogans.
Arrangements were also made for the devotees in a very high and special manner.
There are many Muslims in the village. Seeing these criticisms, some fanatics started rioting by throwing stones and mud at the pandal. Not only that, they also abused and insulted the devotees. Seeing this, Uddhava was very upset. “What a game this is. Is it fair to harass your devotees by beating and talking like this? What was the crime they saw in their worship of their own god? Why should Hindus and Muslims have such hostility? Why don’t you teach them wisdom? He prayed for the blessing of them to get rid of their jealousy and live together.
Hearing Uddhava’s prayers, the Lord called Anjaneya and said, “They are causing trouble to the devotees in the city of Maruthi Pedaru. Go and prevent further harm from happening.’
Anjaneya came to the city of Pedaru with great anger. A large number of Muslims had gathered at the mosque that Friday for prayers. Sri Anjaneya sat on a platform outside the mosque and stretched out his tail to destroy the mosque itself.
It was clear to an elderly Muslim devotee that it was a Maruti. Why did they come out and worship him and try to destroy their mosque?
Maruti replied that he had come to destroy them because they had committed atrocities against the devotees of Lord Rama. The old man entered the mosque and said, Maruti, you go and apologize.
The others laughed at the old man’s words. Some monkey has come, and it will destroy us. Beauty, let it come, and we will crush it in a second.
It was too late to hear those words. Anjaneya’s eyes were red. It was just thunder, lightning, storm or earthquake. In an instant the beautiful mosque collapsed and shattered to pieces.
The matter reached the ears of the Nawab in an instant. He realizes that Rama has sent Hanuman to protect Uddha. In this situation, there is no point in going to Anjaneya, he thought that he would go to Uddhava.
The visitor bowed to him and said, ‘Parama Bhagavata Sigamani, some people have unknowingly disturbed their festival. If I had known this beforehand, I would have made the necessary arrangements and prevented such riots from taking place. You have to forget what happened and keep the numbers without getting angry.”
Uddhava replied, “Your Majesty, you are right. Though you are ignorant of any sin, the sin of the subjects belongs to the king. The king is responsible for the loss caused to the sadhus by the wicked! Therefore, see to it that such communal riots do not take place in your regime again. I know you’re innocent. God will not blame you in the least.”
The king was pleased and returned to the palace with the intention of ensuring that such errors did not happen in his territory again. After celebrating the festival of Sri Rama Navami in a grand manner, Utsav Sadgunar left for Dwaraka.
On hearing of his departure, the king also came and took him with him, gave him gold and goods, paid him his farewell.
