With just a week’s time left to observe Varalakhsmi Vratam, the first grand celestial and auspicious event in the sacred month Sravanam, TTD is gearing up to celebrate the fest in a big way in the abode of Goddess Padmavathi Devi at Tiruchanoor on August 9, 2019.
A review meeting was organised by Tirupati JEO over the arrangements for the upcoming event with the senior officers of TTD in Asthana Mandapam at Tiruchanoor.
The JEO said, Varalakshmi Vratam is considered to be the most important event in the month of Srvanam especially for women as they believe that by celebrating this festival, Goddess Mahalakshmi will bless them with prosperity and happy marital life.
“Goddess Padmavathi Devi being the incarnation of Goddess Mahalakshmi, this festival is being observed by TTD in a grand manner from the past few years in Tiruchanoor. This year also we will celebrate this festival in a big way in Asthana Mandapam between 10am and 12noon on August 9. About 500 couples can sit and watch the religious event. The tickets for the same are available on internet. On August 2 about 200 tickets will be released under current booking”, the JEO added.
He directed the Electrical wing SE Sri Venkateswarulu to make necessary arrangements for the same to enhance the festival fervour by erecting LED screens at Asthana Mandapam and Ratha Mandapam for the sake of devotees. He also instructed the Garden wing chief Sri Srinivasulu to make required arrangements to the platform where the processional deity of Goddess is being seated and Varalakshmi Vratam is observed. “The decorations should provide a colourful vision to the devotees”, he maintained.
The JEO said the HDPP wing of TTD should take up publicity with prachara rathams in the surrounding villages two days prior to the festival. The expert Bhajan troupes should be selected to perform before the procession of Swarna Ratham on the same day evening. The HDPP should also keep enough stock of Kankanams and Varalakshmi vratam pamphlets to be distributed among the devotees. The music college should present the Nadaswaram in a befitting manner for the event”, he directed the concerned.
Adding further the JEO said, “In view of the festival, huge pilgrim crowd is also anticipated on that day. So the security should also be beefed up for crowd management”.
