Swami Paramananda Saraswati

Swamiji was born in the year 1907, in the town of Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu to a Brahmin couple, and his birth name was Jayaraman. After getting educated at his hometown, he served as a teacher in a school, and then he went to Chennai and got an employment in the Central Government. He was an admirer of Swami Sivananda, and used to read his spiritual books in the library. At his teenage, he expressed his wish to Swami Sivananda, to join with him at Rishikesh.

Swamiji went to Rishikesh and stayed at Swami Sivananda’s Ashram, and after some time, as per the instructions of Swamy Sivananda, he went to the Ramakrishna Mission Ashram in Kolkata and become a disciple of one of the foremost disciples of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. He served his guru in a whole-hearted manner, and lived a simple life. After the Mahasamadhi of his guru, he went to Rishikesh and become a saint under Swami Sivananda,and was named as Swami Paramananda in the Swarg Ashram.

Swami Paramananda served his Guru at his Swarg Ashram in a pleasing manner, and he was the Executive of the Divine Life Society. After rendering his selfless service for many years to the society, he has attained SALVATION.
