Kurukshetra is one the most sacred place to perform Surya Grahan punya snan. The first Surya Grahan or Solar Eclipse of the decade will take place on January 15, 2010. About a million devotees are likely to visit Kurukshetra and to perform ritual bath in Brahmasarovar and Sannehit Sarovar for attaining salvation. Tens of special trains and hundreds of busses will be running by the Indian Railways and Government of Haryana.
As per the ancient Hindu scriptures, Kurukshetra is the most holy place for Grahan snan. It is believed that performing punya snan here at Brahmasarovar makes devotees cure from all diseases and to attain Moksha. Kurukshetra is the place where Mahabharat war was fought between Kauravas and Pandavas.
