Sulochana | Daughter of Adisesha

Sulochana was the daughter of Lord Adisesha, and her details were mentioned in Ramayana. She was married to Meghanada, one of the sons of Ravana. Sulochana, was brought up by the Naga king Adisesha in a nice manner, and at her teenage she was married with Meghanada. At the time of her marriage, her father Adisesha granted lot of boons to her, and advised her to serve dutifully to her in-laws and her husband Meghanada. She is a devotee of Lord Vishnu, and used to perform puja and chants the glorious names of Vishnu.

She is a beautiful lady, contains attractive and charming face with very good qualities. She sincerely served her husband Meghanada, mother-in-law Mandodari and father-in-law Ravana. Sulochana was very chaste and pious lady, and she repeatedly asked her father-in-law Ravana to set free Mata Sita from the prison, and to make her to join with Lord Rama. She also consoled Mata Sita, when she was imprisoned by Ravana in the Ashokavanam. A feature film, Sati Sulochana, was produced in Kannada and Telugu languages, based on her life history, and in that film, her greatness was mentioned.

The film was successfully run, and through that, picture, the noble character Sulochana in Ramayana, was known to the people.After the death of her husband, it is believed that she fell down on the pyre of her husband, and went to heaven along with him.

It is believed that in course of time, due to her Vishnu Bhakti and due to the grace of her father Adisesha, she has attained the Vaikunta, the abode of Lord Vishnu, and she still sincerely serves Lord Vishnu and Mata Lakshmi in the divine world.
