DC reported the news…
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, which administers the richest temple of Lord Venkateswara, has finally decided to restore the Sri Vari Paadalu at the Paadala Mandapam at Narayanagiri.
Earlier, DC had brought to light that the most revered Sri Vari Paadalu at Narayanagiri broke, in an unfortunate development on September 1.
Despite the hue and cry raised by scores of devotees from across the country to restore the sanctity of Sri Vaari Paadalu, it has taken almost a fortnight for the temple administration to finally act in accordance with the strong sentiments shown by the devotees.
Speaking to the media, TTD JEO Srinivasa Raju said the restoration works of Sri Vari Paadalu, the historical holy feet situated on the highest peak of Narayanagiri, will commence on Wednesday after performing puja rituals.
After holding discussions with the temple chief priests, Agama scholars and the Sthapathi who apparently designed the holy feet some decades ago, the TTD has decided to replace the original Sri Vari Paadalu and the pilgrims will get to worship New Sri Vari Paadalu immediately after the restoration works are completed by the TTD.
As a preventive measure, the temple administration has also decided to cover the new paadalu with scratch-proof unbreakable glass in order to ensure no damage occurs to the Lord’s feet in the future.
One of the agama scholars of the TTD, Sundaravadanacharyulu, said Kanya lagnam, which commemorates the birth lagnam of Lord Ananthapadmanabha, has been fixed for the commencement of the restoration works.
