Sri Yogeshwara Sivachariyar

Sri Yogeshwara Sivachariyar is presently serving as a priest in the Shiva Temple (Sri Amirtakadeswarar Sameda Ma Lalithambigai Amman Temple) situated inside the complex of Srivatsam Senior Citizen’s Homes, Kalyanapuram, and apart from that, he also used to perform routine pujas in Tirunageswaram Ragu Bhagavan Temple, and traditionally his forefathers were also performed pujas at this famous Navagraha Temple. The name of his father is Umapati Sivachariar, and his mother’s name is Smt.Lakshmi, and he has got one brother and one sister.

Yogeshwar is well qualified in ancient Shaivite Studies like Tirumurai, and he has learnt it in a Shaivite school situated at Sirgazhi, and there he was awarded with the title, “SIVAGAMA SOODAMANI”, due to his in depth knowledge in ancient Shaivite Holy Texts.

Yogeshwar’s native place is Emanathi Mangalam, situated nearby the famous Tirunageswaram Temple. Emanathi Mangalam has attained holiness, since in this place, an ancient Shiva temple is situated, where once, the death god, Lord Yama Dharma Raja himself had performed Shiva Puja to the Holy Shiva Lingam, and here Lord Shiva is worshipped as Somanatha Swamy, and Ma Parvati is worshipped as Soundara Nayagi Amman.

Those who are Unmarried, if they perform Archanai continuously for 48 days, to Ma Soundara Nayagi, then, they would be blessed with a suitable life partner, and, likewise, people who attain 60,70 and 80 years, used to perform marriages in this temple, in order to lead a happy and peaceful life at their old age. This temple is as auspicious as Tirukadaiyur Ma Abirami Devi Temple.

Apart from being serving as a nice priest in two temples, Sri Yogeshwara Sivachariar has also got good knowledge in performing Grahapravesham, Homams like Ganapati Homam, and he has also actively participated in Kumbabishekhams held in various temples.
