Sri Rama Navami Asthanam at Tirumala Tirupati Temple on 8 April 2014 – In view of the festival of Sri Rama Navami on April 8, the famed hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala, the Temple priests performed Snapana Tirumanjanam (Celestial Bath) to Processional Deities of Lord Rama, Seetha, Lakshmana, Anjaneya Swamy at Ranaganayakula Mandapam inside Sri Vari Temple.

The temple administration of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTD) has cancelled Vasanthotsavam and Sahasra Deepalankara Seva on Ramanavami day and cancelled Vasanthotsavam even on April 9 following special rituals on these two auspicious days.

To annihilate the evil forces in Tretayuga, Lord Sri Maha Vishnu has taken the birth on earth as a human being and his seventh incarnation Rama is a symbolic example of perfect adherence to dharma and he is often pictured as the ideal man and the perfect being of the entire human race. He is an embodiment of truth, morality, the ideal son, the ideal husband, and above all, the ideal king who safe guarded the interests of his people with his able administration. Because of all these qualities Lord Sri Rama is revered and worshipped even today by the Hindus spread across the globe.

On this important festival day, the processional deities of Lord Sri Rama on Hanumantha Vahanam were taken on a procession in the four mada streets. Later on their return to the temple, the temple priests performs special rituals. The pundits read out “Sri Rama Jananam” in Sri Rama Navami Asthanam, that which takes place near Bangaru Vakili in the night at around 10pm.

TTD EO Sri MG Gopal, JEO Sri K.S.Sreenivasa Raju, DyEO Temple Sri Chinnamgari Ramana, Peishkar Sri R Selvam, Sri Ramamurthy Reddy, AEO and others took part.
